Why I'm Running for President

“Today, I’m announcing my candidacy for President of SimDemocracy.”

These are words I never expected to say —  but they’re the only words I can envision while I think of our experiment. Now more than ever, SimDemocracy needs a steady hand and a bold vision—someone who can unite our community, sharpen our systems, and guide us into a new era of growth. I know I am that leader.

With TIDE seemingly in the rear-view and a post-exam spurt expected soon, our nation stands at a crossroads. We have an unprecedented opportunity to show the world what SimDemocracy can be—to build our economy, amplify new voices, and strengthen our institutions. Over the past three and a half months, I’ve championed meaningful economic growth, common sense growth initiatives, and a safe and secure security apparatus. Imagine what we can achieve together with a presidential mandate behind us.

Economically, Logry’s cross-term plan is a great start and will do great things for our nation, but there is always more work to do. We need to increase the financial literacy and overall economic knowledge of the public by using the Reserve System to release financial advice slips for our citizens and posting them in different channels. This can alert users to offers they weren’t aware of, stipends they didn’t know they qualified for, or anything else that could be useful for our citizens to understand.

We also need to, at a minimum, invest time in other polsims to determine how realistic a joint economy could be. This would open up our businesses to countless other consumers, and more collaboration could lead to more business types and ideas. This kind of system could never happen overnight, but with the right leadership, steady effort, and clear milestones, we can achieve anything.

SimDemocracy is only as strong as the talent we harness—and during my presidency, I intend to tap every brilliant mind this server has to offer. That’s why I’m committed to building an official SimDemocracy website: a single, easy-to-update hub where you can access our Wiki, view recently passed laws and executive orders, check the daily Senate docket and active court cases, track upcoming elections, and read the latest articles. A project of this scale demands clear ownership, so I will appoint Ferris and Stoner to co-lead the development team and ensure it’s delivered on time, on budget, and with the quality our community deserves.

National security isn’t a buzzword—it’s the bedrock of every thriving community. Under my presidency, we will empower smart, common-sense decision-makers to keep SimDemocracy safe and peaceful. I’ve watched security challenges define past administrations, and I refuse to let our nation be caught unprepared. That’s why I’ll establish a national security directorate staffed with respected experts in crime, terrorism, and technology. They will give reports directly to the President on any actions they believe should be taken on any issue regarding national security to ensure as many options and opinions are heard as possible before a decision is made.

Friends, the moment for half-measures and hesitation has passed. Together, we’ve laid the groundwork—streamlining our economy, building the tools of good governance, and fortifying our security—but the presidency offers us the mandate and muscle to turn plans into lasting progress. If you believe in a SimDemocracy that is transparent, inclusive, and bold, then join me.

On election day, cast your vote not just for a candidate, but for a future we build together. Let us prove that a community of builders, thinkers, and dreamers can unite under one banner and that, under steady leadership, our experiment can become the gold standard of online democracy. I humbly ask for your support, your energy, and your trust. Let’s seize this moment and shape the next great chapter of SimDemocracy together.
